its a gnome-package, right? I'm actually going for a multi plattform

An alternative is using a GtkNotebook, but only if you can reconsider the
need of being able to need to move the sub windows around
Visuality (if thats a word) is a major concept here; so a notebook is
clearly not appropriate.
