Yes, these are performance changes (by not repeating work unecessarily),
although they were mostly the ones done by Giovanni and Florian.
Could you create a pull request on github? That's probably better place
to comment code.
I'm willing to do that, but I'm new to both Git and the PyInstaller
project repository. I currently have a local clone of the
fix_merge_case branch, with all the changes made there (unstaged). I
didn't create that branch, so I'm a bit reluctant to push stuff into
it. If it's OK with everyone, I'll go ahead and do it.
