I use them because I am experimenting with using HTMLPanel for layout and I don't necessariy want to start a new line after a Label or HTML. I never understood why Label and HTML widgets had a div instead of a span - maybe something to do with the problem of setting the width of spans. I had been creating the equivalent of InlineLabel by feeding a pre-created span element to Label until I discovered that the Inline Widgets were now part of Pyjamas.
