Hi, Cool, really pleased we're all friends again.
I haven't heard from James about AuthKit; I will contact him myself at some point. I'm going to add this to repoze.who first, mostly because that's the TG auth lib, and TG is my fave framework. To be honest, I don't know if there's much demand for this from TG or Pylons users. What I do know is that my page gets over a thousand hits a day and I have had hundreds of emails from people using the scripts. It's been featured in articles on sites like builder.com, and some very high profile sites use it - for many years every Yahoo login used the script. It must have protected literally billions of logins. So, there is definitely some demand somewhere! Ross - I think your suggestion of dual-storing passwords and having the rolling changeover makes a lot of sense. If we get this right, I think it can work well in a backwards-compatible way. For version 0.1, I will probably not aim for backward-compatibility - if you want to use it, you'd need to turn it on when you create the site. When I'm happy that's working, I'll take the next step. Thanks for the lively discussion. BTW, the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan is the most amazing party I have ever been to in my life. You guys must go there sometime! I think I'm the only traveler who does open source development in the quiet moments, I just prefer it to reading a book.
