I'd suggest as a start using the following documentation instead:

  http://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/wiki/IntegrationWithPylons
  http://code.google.com/p/modwsgi/wiki/VirtualEnvironments

That workingenv example is more complicated than it needs to be. The
virtual environments documentation on mod_wsgi web site shows more
minimal solution.

If you cannot get it working with these other instructions, show the
contents of your WSGI script file.
