I understood the reason all Prototype/Scriptaculous-helpers were discontinued but I saw this one as library-independent. It's quite handy to escape parameters being fed to JavaScript functions of any sort. For the time being, I ended up copying it out of webhelpers.rails.javascript into my own module to avoid the warnings.
