Hi to everyone in the pylons/pyramid community. I'm the technical
cofounder of a startup in San Diego that is looking for an intermediate
level Python programmer.

I'm hoping to nab someone with Pylons/Pyramid experience (but it isn't a
requirement) that is local to the San Diego area.

If you have at least 20 hours a week and are interested, please shoot an
email to [email protected]

Below is the job posting we've created for Craigslist and other job
posting boards:

Hi!

We are a local (college area, San Diego) startup named WhooshTraffic
(http://whooshtraffic.com); we help small businesses get more traffic
to their websites and we're growing fast!

We are looking for an intermediate level Python programmer to join our
team; you would be working closely with our lead developer (the sole
programmer at this point) to help build new features, fix bugs, and
write unit tests. This is a fun job, with fun people, and ample room
for growth. The pace is quick which means autonomy is key for small
teams like ours, you will have it, there will be little micromanaging
from the lead developer (exception being weekly code-reviews); this is
not a "coding" or "code monkey" opportunity. Degree or no degree, we
care about /how/ you think, /how/ you fit in with our budding culture,
and the different perspective you can bring to the vision.

We're a Python/Pylons-Pyramid shop and we use Erlang for backend
server services. Knnowing Erlang is not a requirement, but is a big
plus.

Knowing Python is a requirement and knowing Pylons and/or Pyramid is a
big plus. If you've contributed to an open-source project and can
point us (in your resume) at the commit logs for your user, you will
have preference - like wise if you have a GitHub or BitBucket (or
other social code platform) profile with code in it, give us a link to
it, please.

We are interested in a mind that can pro-actively think (programmer
vs. coder), a personality that is comfortable being autonomous, and a
person that is exhilarated by their craft.

To start, this will be a part-time paid position.

Please send your resume with samples of your work to
[email protected] and we will follow up with you.

Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!
