Hi Lucas,

what you want to explore is easily doable by just replacing the current 
html file in the generated project with the one from csszengarden.com. 
However switching the current scaffold html file to fit into this structure 
and make it appear good by just applying the css file is something hard to 
achieve without loosing what can make a good branded starter page.

The current scaffold starter page will be replaced in a near future by a 
new design shared between the website and the documentation theme and will 
have more visual impact than the current one. I think the goal of the 
starter page should be something strong about brand and references than 
providing a way to design or start your front-end development. There are 
too much opinions on how to do front-end development and it's too high 
level for pyramid to provide those in the core distribution. However 
I strongly encourage people to develop front-end scaffolds with opinions 
like HTML5 Boilerplate and/or Twitter Bootstrap, etc...
