Hi

I am compiling with sucess with the actual stable version of gcc.
I am using the 4.2.1 version of gcc and works for me.
All the tests passed. I tested with mandriva 2007 x86 and ubuntu amd64 .

If you wish , i can pass for you the steps, but i can advice in
advance : I only follow the step s of gcc home page for compile.
if you wish too i can send for you the compressed tarball generated by
"make distrib" process.

anyway, sorry with my hard english but i hope that you understand me. :)
Bye.
