My name is Eli Wasserman, I'm a multimedia artist and together with my
wife Rachel, an architect, we are planning a Bio-mimic architectural
project in Hongkong.
I have the following question: Is it possible to convert a Pdb file
(or any other Pymol
format) to a 3D file (3ds) or a CAD file? Our goal is to apply a
molecula structure in the project, therefor we need to find a way to
export the Pymol's molecula structure into our modeling programs (3D
studio max, Autocad).
we will appreciate very much any kind of advising.
Hi Eli,
There might be other options, but PolyTrans can convert PDB into 3DS:
http://www.okino.com/conv/imp_pdb.htm
However, I think this will only export the coordinates themselves, not
their rendering etc.
Hope this helps - Luca
