Xavier,

The Windows installer for PyMOL is designed to safely do an overlay installl
/ upgrade. However, it might be prudent to back up your "Program
Files/DeLano Scientific/PyMOL" directory first, just in case there are any
incompatibilities between existing plugins and newer versions.

Subject: [PyMOL] Pymol update and plugins?

Hello all,

In the lab we have different computers with different versions of Pymol,
from 0.99rc6 to 1.0r2...
On the "old" Pymol versions several plugins are installed (slerpy, rtools,
apbs...). If I want to update the software to the lastest version (on linux
systems), do I have to completely reinstall Pymol and the plugins or does
there is a way to update only the software without removing plugins?

Thanks for your help,

Xavier.
