I've tested this with v1.4.1 and don't see any problems. If you're on a laptop, then be sure to establish a network connection before fetching. I've seen this cause problems some time. Just by chance, do you have fetch_host or fetch_path set to something non-standard (maybe in your .pymolrc)?
