I have pyqt in my powerbook, same versions, and it seems to be fine.
Check out gentoo for OS X. That's the way to go.

Hi, I'm trying to install sip 4.2.1 and pyQt 3.14.1on my mac
running OSX 10.3.9 I've installed Qt sucessfully and have run the
demos. However, when I try to configure sip I get the following error
Error: /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.0.0/mkspecs/default/qmake.conf: macro
'[QT_INSTALL_HEADERS]' is not defined.
Hving trawled through this list I can't find anyone else who has
had this problem. Any ideas what I am missing here?
Thanks in advance, Alistair.
