Thanks for all your comments. The problem with asking the authors is that to some extent they do not know themselves what they are doing. For instance, there are several icons sets that are pretendedly LGPL but not shipped with the license text thus violating the LGPL themselves.
The problem with LPGL, besides its "viral effect" is that you actually have a lot of obligations (e.g. providing addresses, and printed documentation on request). For a company like Nokia this is certainly a minor issue as a private person you better think twice if you take these things seriously. Anyway, I have got another question on the original icon issue: * Are there really no Qt-specific icon sets included? * Is it possible to access OS-icons e.g. on the Mac? I am specifically interested in toolbar buttons. It appears strange to me that there are no "canonical solutions" because I think every developer soon runs into this problem.
