I'm not using MacPorts, but rather homebrew[1] as ports system on OS
X. Homebrew currently already offers Qt 4.7.2 (as does MacPorts from
what I've seen), but uses the system-supplied Python installation
(2.6.1 on Snow Leopard). PySide is not in Homebrew, but PyQt is (so I
assume they would have no problem with adding PySide as well). I could
have a look at getting PySide into homebrew if users are interested.
Of course that doesn't really contribute to testing the MacPorts
packages or this thread, but just wanted to point out that this might
also be another good target for PySide on OS X. And don't forget that
there's Fink[2] as well.
