I think these are great features. I already expressed my appreciation for the ability to have variable tables but linking within groups would just be fantastic. > for it and resources were available (in our case, Carabos, that means > time and funding for big tasks). So no sales of Pytables Pro? > So yes, there are features in HDF5 not supported by PyTables and vice > versa. But don't they make for a great team? ;) They certainly do since python is currently my language of choice. I think this project is heading somewhere. I see many fully open source projects that are supported mainly due to a large user base. But commercial funding is allways a plus to any project. I think this pro and evalutaion stuff maybe turning people away. Since a commercial company would probably buy Pytables pro and the investment stops there, whereas if you had no products they would have feel urged to push the development especially if they integrate it fully into their systems. I am not really sure about the status of Carabos but I am just attempting to address factors that may be involved with the lack of funding. You have been very hepful, never thought I would be this comfortable with pytables, well I like the feeling that you get when you dive into something new. The water is allways really cold at first.
