Sorry Hatem for the late answer, but we've been quite busy this week. Well, there we go...

What you exposed makes sense for a large user base, but our situation is substantially different since PyTables covers a niche market and it doesn't have a large user or contributor base. Instead, we're a tiny group of developers working in our own company, spending most of our time on it. We looked for a business model which revolved around Free/Open Source Software, and this is the closest we could get to *in our particular situation*. You may find a more detailed reasoning at the PyTables FAQ: http://pytables.org/moin/FAQ#head-56717b950c5348409ec92f8ef1db147df90e4bc9 > You have been very hepful, never thought I would be this comfortable > with pytables, well I like the feeling that you get when you dive into > something new. The water is allways really cold at first. Thank you, this is always easier with supportive users! ;) :: Ivan Vilata i Balaguer >qo< http://www.carabos.com/ Cárabos Coop. V. V V Enjoy Data ""
