There is always somebody who uses a feature. This argument blocks any innovation or cleanup. Victor just reminded me of https://xkcd.com/1172/ . * The removed modules will be available through PyPI. * You don't have to start to worry until Python 3.10 is released in over 3 years from now. * The modules are fully supported in Python 3.8 and 3.9. Python 3.9 will reach EOL late 2026 or early 2027. That's plenty of time.
