no, I'm not. Just wanted to point out, that this ticket/patch does not
solve the django issue.

I'm still missing details.
I'm going to spend some time looking into this this weekend (issue
assigned appropriately. Getting it working again shouldn't be too bad
(just revert the relevants bits to their 2.5 equivalents) - the tricky
part is going to be keeping the warning of the associated change to the
semantics in 3.0.
(I'll also take a look at 3.0 to make sure the relevant test case from
the tracker issue works properly there)
