I question this because last December Armin wrote You're saying as if providing a sane upgrade path was a bad thing. That said, if I had other proposals I would have submitted them *now* since waiting for another Python version to go by would not be helpful.
I only have myself to blame for providing that PEP now instead of earlier which would have been a lot more useful.
