On Debian, ensurepip is in the python3.5-venv package. https://packages.debian.org/stretch/amd64/python3.5-venv/filelist Unfortunately there isn't (AFAIK) a meta-package which just says "stop fooling around and just give me everything from the python.org distribution, d*mmit." Stephan
