Thanks for the discussion. I found my original concern was supposedly about sourceforge. PyPi, according to a post over on pypubsub-dev that pip installs had anecdotal problems with sourcforge-hosted projects.
I guess I wanted some more anecdotes and opinions before I tried moving anything. I barely understand the SVN I'm using now, so trying to learn a new VCS is a tad daunting for this hobbyist. -- https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list
