Dat hangt wat van de taal af denk ik. Mijn ervaring is dat je toch C++ minimaal een jaar goed moet gebruiken voordat je door hebt hoe je het echt moet gebruiken. In de praktijk is vrijwel alle C++ code redelijk terug helaas. Ik moet zeggen dat ik zelf C# ook best mooi vind.
Een voordeel van python is dat het makkelijk te leren is, en via ironpython en jython heb je ook makkelijk toegang hebt tot een hele berg bibliotheken en OS interfaces.
