http://madlab.org.uk/ It’s generally free for community groups. There are usually drinks, and sometimes snacks available, along with an honesty cat (kitty) for donations towards more, and you can also bring your own. Some groups get sponsorship for their events for food and drink, and donation to Madlab. > I'd be interested to know whether some people like the informal > atmosphere (and beer) of a pub. Well, Madlab’s great, but I do kind of miss going to the pub for a chat, with all of the groups I have been involved with making Madlab their venue of choice. I enjoyed this month’s meeting, as an example of meeting in an informal social setting that can be good. I think alternating being talk/coding meets and pub meets is good.
