I could offer 2 possible lightning talks:
1. In a small project recently I did some video processing, trying to
bring together video, dynamic distance measurements and speed of cars
passing a moving bicycle. It's all based on python modules. I could give
a quick talk what it was about, which modules I considered and used...
2. I am trying to fix some handle leaks in CPython a client of mine had
detected. These leaks are within the python core and I have identified them.
But getting them fixed is not so easy (well, I have not succeeded to
achieve both: fixing the leaks and have code that seems thread safe).
If other members of the group have some experience in writing
applications using embedded python, maybe this is something we can discuss?
Regards
Martin

Ladies and Gents,
It has been almost 10 days since our last meeting and one of the highlights
of the Python Northwest calendar is now upon us ... the vote! Please vote
for the evening most suitable for you for December's Python Northwest
meeting using the following link:

Just a random note that December 16th is the Manchester Digitals
Christmas Party this year.
For now the venue is MadLab once more and, as usual, the day chosen will be
based on (1) the nights left available at MadLab and (2) the results of the
poll. The poll will close 11:59pm on Sunday 28th November. (Note that the
evenings shown in the poll are the evenings still available at MadLab).
December's meeting will be a talks meeting. Offers of talks posted to the
list will be gratefully received! Whether it's a brief lightning talk or a
longer in-depth talk, this is a great opportunity to promote a project
you're working on or to simply choose a topic which might spark some
discussion amongst the group.
I'll happily give a lightning talk this time - not sure on what at
this instant, but I'm sure I can find something interesting :-)
One other thing I'd like to suggest is this - I'm not sure what time
we're starting, but picking a pub to decamp to (if people want to :-)
afterwards, and a time we'll be there would mean we could do both
lightning talks and pub chat - which would be nice.
Michael.
