Time:
"Savoy Place evening lectures generally take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from September to June. 17:30 to 18:30 for "Networking" with light refreshments and cold buffet free of charge for those who register."
So the lecture itself would be 18:30, then a free drink in the bar afterwards.

Just one lecture in the first instance, but if we make a success of it we should be able to get more. Xen was talking about the possibility of parallel events. In this case we're parallel with an event covering IET registration and benefits. As far as I'm concerned, the fact that we can DO this sort of thing is a pretty good benefit!

So Pete Ryland, Tim Golden, myself and maybe Andy Robinson need to get to present the formal description for publication and prepare our slides.

We have a lecture slot at the IET for July 5th. For those who haven't been there, the facilities are first rate.

If we choose a workshop: if we want to do practical demonstrations and let people join in, not only is there a wireless network we can use but also a number of PCs for people without them.

Or if we go for a presentation format there are a number of lecture theatres with superb facilities. ('Facilities' also includes food and the bar afterwards - IET evening lectures are networking events too).

Pete, Tim - Is the date convenient for you?

Michael,

As you can see we have the green light for July 5th. The ball is in your court now. You need to think things through and produce a brief outline proposal of how you want to run the event and then produce a short synopsis for the workshop.

Xen
