Vedi il papero: http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/wcook/Drafts/2006/WSvsDO.pdf Penso che l'obiettivo essenziale di SOAP sia l'interoperabilità e che a seconda di come lo usi sia o meno un problema di prestazioni, dovute al fatto che le informazioni sono trasportate su XML e che spesso il supporto non fa mai pipeling HTTP, quindi tutti i messaggi sono mandati su connessioni nuove: Latenza = Tsetup(connessione)+Tparsing+Tcomm_HTTP.
