Hi, Guys! Despite everyone's help, and a growing understanding of how to read the API docs, I still find there's a TON of implicit knowledge between seeing a list of arguments and actually knowing how to get something to work. In an effort to A) record and share what I've learned, and B) maybe get some generous souls involved in filling it out further, I've started a list of "arguments and what works for them".
http://docs.osipaentertainment.com/index.php/Maya_API_Python_Attribute_and_Type_Reference I've made up sections by argument types you see in the API docs, which break down to: 1 ) How to add appropriate attributes to a node to "send" or "receive" the right kind of data 2 ) How to read and interpret input and output for that type af argument 3 ) How to do 1&2 in a function instead of a node Take a look, please offer feedback and additions! (This is super new, and not very full just yet) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Yours, Maya-Python Club Team. -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
