About pymel 8.5: Great :) ! Thanks a lot ! About git: Indeed, a public repo is not required. If you would start using git-svn locally, others could more easily send in patches. You would apply them at your side, and dcommit them to the tracked subversion repository. Actually , I am curious whether that works correctly as people would just be tracking the svn repository, not your main git repository. Would be interesting to find out - I am optimistic for some sha1-ish reason. Why I use git: In here we have two types of users: the beta testers and the normal users. Latter ones are on a stable branch, a release, that is created on major pipeline milestones. The betatesters are on current/trunk, which is the development branch where every change goes to. Everytime a developer commits to trunk, this change is reflected immediately on the network, visible to all betatesters. Although they are aware of the inherent danger, still it's not nice to break them just because you really wanted to do this commit to store your intermediate state. With git, I can work locally and commit as often as I want, create and maintain feature branches easily, and commit all in one bunch once I feel comfortable with it.
