I said it is going to be easy :)) I've just found the way to easily install PyQt4 4.5.3 for maya 2011 under Kubuntu 10.04 LTS ( I'm repeating that on and on to help people find this post)...
I've just used the Live CD of Kubuntu 9.10 and booted from the cd and copied all the PyQt4 and sip files :) that's all... it is working now without any problem :) boy, I love Linux... cheers...
