Hi all,
Luma is looking for a Junior Pipeline TD and a Mid-to-Senior Level Developer /
TD. The exact skill set is less important than the personality and the raw
talent. The type of person we are looking for lives and breathes VFX, takes
incredible pride in their work, has excellent communication skills, and little
ego. I am looking for someone that I can task out a difficult problem to, and
have confidence that the finished product will be cleanly executed, neither a
short cut nor over-engineered. I am looking for a developer who gets out of
their seat and talks to artists to understand what they need.

On a personal note, I've been at Luma for over 9 years and I can still say with
confidence that it is an incredible place to work. Luma is not owned by a
mega-corp, it is not saddled with debt, it treats it's employees fairly, and we
are thriving, even here in California. With all the dire news lately, I have
come to realize that these seemingly simple ideas are (sadly) much more radical
than they've seemed for all these years.

Some stats:
Luma runs mostly Linux, with a few osx machines. We use and contribute to a lot
of open source software, PyMEL being our largest contribution. We have 7
full-time developers and about 40-50 artists. We are a Maya and Nuke house,
with plenty of additional software like Mari, Mudbox, ZBrush, Houdini,
RealFlow, RV, etc. If an application supports scripting, we customize the hell
out of it. We were early adopters of Arnold and contributed much of the
current code of MtoA. We are currently co-developing Fume for Maya with Sitni
Sati and Digic.

If you fit the bill, send us your cover letter, resume, and reel (if you have
one)
