I concur wholeheartedly. I was going to pitch in with a comment like this but I think I did, recently. I have't used BBedit and TextWrangler only a little, but when I groked TextMate (and it takes a little effort to understand what makes it special) I was blown away. I'll add that while it's not free, it is very reasonable--$39 US as I recall.
