PyQt works a lot better than wx for the moment. Also, we like to offer options [ and pyqt / pyside is pretty much the best gui option on python right now ]. I agree pyside is an options on linux / windows however. For instance, the enthought traits project allows you to specify whether to use the PyQt or Pyside backend.
