@Tacsipacsi thanks for the feedback! In an active development branch like the current Pywikibot 11 master, it’s useful not to fix major versions for most dependencies. This allows us to detect compatibility issues early while developing and adjusting the code. Dependencies should also never be fixed in tests. Allowing major version updates during active development helps catch problems sooner and ensures the code remains compatible with evolving dependencies. For stable releases, however, it can be helpful to restrict updates to the same major version that was tested, to maintain stability.
