+1 just for being much better looking than the current one. Python logo, Wikimedia colors, and a good-looking gear… I like it very much.
I do have a minor feedback (but no suggestion on how to address it, and I support your proposal as is, regardless of this issue): Since the MediaWiki reference is just the colors of the Python logo, we loose it if we change the logo to black and white (common for T-Shirts). 2016-07-13 23:37 GMT+02:00 Tobias Schönberg <tobias47...@gmail.com>: > Hi! > > I have been already talking on the IRC about an update to the current > Pywikibot logo and would like to also announce it here to gather some > feedback. > > The reason for the proposal is mostly to make the project a little > more recognizable and to also communicate that the project and the > community around it is fun and also accessible to people that have a > high technological barrier. > > The current logo is here: > > https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pwb_icon.svg [1] > > It uses yellow and blue that are used by the original Python logo: > > > https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Official_Python_icons_and_direct_derivatives > > I also looked at this logo and thought it looked quite nice, but I > think that removing the gear is loosing a lot of the uniqueness of > [1]. > > After some talks on the IRC I made this version, which I think would > work really well on stickers and t-shirts as well, which could be > distributed at workshops: > > https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pywikibot_logo_suggestion_3.svg > > The logo uses the WMF colors and some variants that also use the green are > here: > > https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pywikibot_logo_proposal_2.svg > https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pywikibot_logo_proposal.svg > > I also think it is good to leave the colors more or less open to adapt > them according to taste or event theme.
