I didn't refer to the canvas default. Certainly, _wrappedindocument should be able to set up a default of "None" for the page constructor wrapped into canvas.canvas. AFAICS all examples use the write methods on canvas instances, as certainly everyone does for figures; none of these should be affected. document.page (which I was referring to) may still have a different default.
