Just for the record:

PCTeX has provided AFMs for MTPro2 meanwhile, as generated from
Fontographer.

Those from Fontographer are remarkably similar to those generated by
pf2afm (from pfb+pfm), but differ in FontBBoxes and very few metrics
(mostly for "space").

Everything works OK with the pfm fallback from 3234 also.
