Hello,

I have just installed QDVDAuthor and all of the required dependencies,
everything seems to be OK. I am using Xine as the player.

I have captured a few small video clips from my TV using a capture card and
used a video editor (Avidemux 2.4) to cutout the commercials and generate a
file suitable for DVD (video DVD lavc, audio MP2 twoLAME, format MPEG-PS
A+V). Not that I know what most of that means but I believe that is the
required format.

When I click on "Add Movie" and select the .mpg file it seems to load but then
displays the word "Error" where the image should be. The file name and time
(00:02:03) are displayed correctly. The progress bar at the bottom shows the
correct file size (66.69 MB but only shows 1% where it stops.

I also tried this with a captured movie, about 90 minutes long, and it loaded
to 48% and then stopped with the Error display.

When I display the properties, the current format shows V: ntsc(720x480)
29.97Hz [mpegpes] vfm: A: Stereo 0bit 48000 mp3, the film strip image across
the bottom has the work Error in each image square.

I can create a menu, I can load a .jpeg image backgroup for the menu, and
other functions seem to be working. So, everythins looks OK to me but it
obviously is not.

Is there somewhere I should be looking for more information about the error,
or can someone tell me what I have done wrong? This is all new to me.

What am I missing?

Thank you for any help.

Paul Nauman
