I've noticed a problem with some videos I try to convert into DVDs. The video source shows "Error" and the movie buttons also show up as "Error" in the DVD. However, the movie itself is produced properly.
This seems to be related to H264 video. Unfortunately, in some cases, avidemux2 won't convert it properly (one video has a problem with sound while another crashes avidemux), although qdvdauthor seems able to handle it (the .vob files are created and play properly). This means, however, that I can't use avidemux2 to convert the video to mpeg2 DVD format first. The problem with the buttons may be that qdvdauthor is using the original video file to produce the movie buttons. However the button making video converter can't handle H264 video as well as the program that produces the MPEG2 video for the DVD movie. If I follow things correctly however, I believe that qdvdauthor produces the MPEG2 video file before it creates the menu. Therefore it should be possible to use the recoded MPEG2 file for the buttons, which should circumvent the problem I've encountered. Unfortunately, when I tried pointing the movie previews to the MPEG2 file created in an earlier attempt to produce the DVD (I deleted the original button and created a new one, so the file path is correct), I still get "Error" in the movie buttons. Any ideas on how I can get around this problem? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Learn how Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) One Node allows customers to consolidate database storage, standardize their database environment, and, should the need arise, upgrade to a full multi-node Oracle RAC database without downtime or disruption http://p.sf.net/sfu/oracle-sfdevnl _______________________________________________ QDVDAuthor-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qdvdauthor-users
