Hi Sergio, Thanks for getting in touch again. The first step is to contact Alex about the project idea. I have CCed him on this email so you can begin discussing any thoughts or questions you have about the project idea. Feel free to discuss in private (off-list). Other applicants read this mailing list and you're not obligated to give away your ideas. The advantage of discussing your plans on the mailing list is that other developers can give feedback. Your choice. You will need to submit an application form at http://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/ by April 3rd. The application form asks for a project plan - an estimated schedule for your work over the summer. This means you need to look into the project idea and decide how to tackle it. Break it down into tasks and estimate how long they will take. If you have questions, ask Alex and he can help you. Good luck! Stefan PS: If you want to contribute patches to QEMU as a way to get a hang of the development process, take a look at http://qemu-project.org/BiteSizedTasks. Guidelines for submitting patches are here: http://wiki.qemu-project.org/Contribute/SubmitAPatch
