I recall there is the following question in the students application
template:
'Do you understand this is a serious commitment, equivalent to a
full-time paid summer internship or summer job?'

Hi, if i recall riight google suggests 20h a week or so and osgeo 40.
In any case, i was working about 30% and it worked out perfect.
Well, the hourly requirements are indicative, but it is recommended to
consider GSoC as the primary occupation for the summer. Of course some
vacation and other occupations are fine, as long as they don't block
progress in the SoC project.
That said, best of luck to all students and mentors! More proposals are
welcome. I suggest to submit the application as soon as it is readable,
in order to allow comments from mentors, and to avoid problems due to
last-minute Melange overload :)
best,
Anne
Ciao.

Hi,
It turned out that our student could not commit. He has a 40%
position and it seems that GSoc requires a full commitment.
This student is nevertheless still interested in working with QGIS
and will continue to work on QGIS globe, but outside of GSoc.

Ciao Paolo, I for shure have 1-2 students that will submit
proposals for android qgis. I know that Andreas has tslked to a
student for improving svg and camilo withdrawed his proposal.
Hopefully all students are just being students and waiting for the
deadline to submit :)

Hi all.
The deadline is approaching: are there students applying? Should
we promote QGIS more actively? After several years of successes,
it would be bad to miss this opportunity.
All the best.
