Dear All,

I followed your discussion with interest and I have a feeling there are two aspects to be considered: One is the developer's perspective and one is the user's perspective. From a developer's perspective there is the api change, new raster architecture (and a lot more I cannot name, basically "under the hood"). From a user's perspective 2.0 should be clearly distinguishable from 1.* (icons, GUI) and things long introduced (new symbology, new labelling) should be standard and work reliably but without regression compared to the old methods.
So the project should take its time to satisfy both perspectives.

my two cents

Bernhard
