I've been working with my "unified add layer button" modification for a few months now: https://anitagraser.com/2016/07/20/one-add-button-to-rule-them-all/ Wouldn't want to go back. I still sometimes use the Add PostGIS layer dialog from the menus though. Best wishes, Anita
