The main point (clearly outlined by Alessandro Pasotti during our latest PSC) is that very few people are technically able to review the PRs, and usually only for the part of code they already know well. I think this explains the lack of response. To improve the situation I think we should provide an easy way to contribute, in a way that actually favours those who contribute.
