Hi all

Are we now talking about changing the logo for qgis? This just started because we need a version that's printable ... So it has to take into account some restrictions. It was never the plan to change the looks of the original logo though.

If we really want to change the master logo there would be a lot of work to do afterwards. I think there are more important things to focus on.

Ciao,

Anita

Hi All,

I also like Anita's second version best - but I can see the need for some more hints to something "geographic" in the logo and I think that's what Tim tried to get at - though I nice idea I think it's making it too complex for a logo.

An other tack could be trying to get some kind of a geographic grid drapped over the Q - as in the example attached - I am not too sure about it but it may inspire you to come-up with something even better ?

Cheers,

Stefaan

Inspired! The map inset is a nice touch.

Perhaps having the Q body yellow would look nicer, and be more familiar.

Hi

How about a few tweaks on that e.g. this rough mockup in GIMP

Maybe its just familiarity, but I think I prefer Anita's SVG logo
though.

Tim

How about a combination of the 3d look and color?

This is my draft proposal of logo in SVG

with and without arrow.
