and there is Martin Dobias' Postgis-manager plugin - which is quite close to a catalogue browser in my opinion, but specialized for Postgis. It would have to add the search issues and support for other data formats.
I also think that many components for a catalogue browser and viewer are already existing. At least 4-5 existing plugins do something along the lines, partially overlapping: the plugins listed below plus the Postgis manager plugin. One would have to join efforts of the various plugin authors to create something more generally usable and compatible. > - use the overview map widget to view the data (vector and raster) > - evis plugin for other data such as geocoded photos, non-geocoded > paper maps, poster maps, etc. > - metadata plugin for metadata viewing or a new widget to design the > graphical forms from a shapefile index attribute table Andreas -- Andreas Neumann http://www.carto.net/neumann/ http://www.svgopen.org/ _______________________________________________ Qgis-user mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
