I read the following in the manual
“Depending on the format of the data and the GDAL library built with your QGIS
version, some tools may not be available.”

Is the attribute table you wish to edit reading from a CSV or similar? I would
Save_as a shapefile or geopackage layer and work from that.
Cheers

Right click on the layer in the menu and select Attribute table, then click the
little pencil at top left of the table's toolbar. You can now edit on the
attribute table manually or by expressions.

Good luck

When I am digitizing simple contours, I am finding that after editing and
saving the layer, I end up with duplicate contours, one of which I must delete
or the labels look silly. Any idea why this might be happening?

Is there a way to edit an attribute table, I want to change or delete a few
points or labels without having to do it in the csv file
