Thanks for this info on the use of "Merge Selected Features".
I am still looking for help on connecting two lines. The line is a stream that is "interrupted" by a backwater. See the screen shot: https://photos.app.goo.gl/qr3H5HgDfWG44FP66 WV-Mike ============= On 2/13/2026 9:37 AM, Richard Greenwood wrote:
The "Merge Selected Features" tool does not alter the geometries. I takes two or more geometries and combines them into a new single "multi" geometry. For example of you have two features in your layer that are two separate records and you merge them you'll now have just one record for that feature. Maybe you have a highway with two separated lanes and you want to both lanes show as separate lines but in the data you only want one record, then you would use the "Merge Selected Features" tool.On Fri, Feb 13, 2026 at 8:00 AM ERT - Mike Breiding via QGIS-User <[email protected]> wrote:Greetings, I am trying to merge/connect two lines. When I select the lines, I choose the Merge tool and choose OK. But, the lines do not connect. Screenshot: https://photos.app.goo.gl/wh7MuSSTBvjb1eyd7 Am I going about this the correct way?
