Currently the ReST Entity API doesn't support numeric and boolean properties.
It should.
Character : the actual unicode character in the UTF-8 encoding.
Boolean : the strings "true" and "false", caseinsensitive.
Byte : -128 to 127
Short : -32768 to 32767
Integer : -2147483648 to 2147483647
Long : -9223372036854775808 to 9223372036854775807
Float : Float.MIN_VALUE to Float.MAX_VALUE
Double : Double.MIN_VALUE to Double.MAX_VALUE
The numerical value is of course a text in the XML output.
Note that for Float and Double, there are a couple of special cases, where the
output is a string representing these special values, case-insensitive.
Positive infinity : "+INF"
Negative infinity : "-INF"
Not A Number : "NaN"
All other strings will generate an error.
