Arghhh!!! It wasn't the reason. Upgrade didn't help.
Anybody got any clue; There are now more than 500 entries in LDAP. The query performed in Crowd is (objectclass=inetorgperson) which matches every registered user. It seems that OpenLDAP only allows 500 to be returned, because if I connect with Apache Directory Studio I will get exactly 500 back (and no error), and I suspect that when Crowd try to iterate the next batch the server says [Error 4; Size limit exceeded] and Crowd bails completely. Any immediate feedback appreciated.
